Sponsor Sabrina Mitchell could have been a teacher

Sabrina Mitchell

A former Maritime Savings Bank employee who made the transition to North Shore Bank two years ago, Sabrina Mitchell was promoted at the end of July from Muskego BOC to Southwest service banker.

Had Sabrina not gone into banking, she might have become a teacher. Muskego Branch Manager Mark Fairfield suggested Sabrina for the sponsor program after observing what he describes as “her sincere desire to help and teach others and unwavering need to do things right.”

Sabrina completed the sponsor program in March. And although she is still waiting to work with her first sponsee, she has experienced the joy of training new employees in the past.

“I find it gratifying that managers and co-workers are impressed enough with the work I do to entrust me with training a new employee,” she says. “I love helping people and supporting them as they begin a new position, and I’m looking forward to the reward of helping people grow with North Shore Bank.”

Mark notes that sponsors need to have confidence in their abilities. “Sabrina has a proven record of operational excellence, and her technical skills are very strong. She enjoys teaching others, and her style is helpful and supportive — but she is not going to do the work for you. She encourages her students to try new things and to learn from their mistakes.

“Sabrina’s expectations of herself are high, and she challenges others to achieve and maintain that same level of service.  I am confident that the new hires who work with Sabrina will have a solid foundation from which to jump-start their career at North Shore Bank.”
