Making history at North Shore Bank

Jim McKenna

Families have a shared history, an understood culture, and a commitment to building a bright future for their children and grandchildren. Families make history. That’s exactly what we’re doing at North Shore Bank.

When I looked around at the 700-plus employees and family members, including so many kids and grandkids, enjoying our company picnic at the Milwaukee County Zoo, I thought about what a beautiful family-oriented culture we have at North Shore Bank. I reflected on what a great fiscal year it has been and how lucky I am to be associated with so many magnificent people who worked hard to make North Shore the thriving bank enterprise it is today. Together, as a bank family, we are making history.

North Shore Bank just wrapped up a very good fiscal year on September 30. We are expecting pre-tax income of around $9 million – a significant turnaround from the previous year’s losses when we strategically wrote off the value of depressed real estate.  As a result of everyone’s tremendous hard work and dedication in building a bright 2012, we achieved profitability and are well poised for continued success in 2013.

You are not the only ones who should be applauded for this year’s outstanding financial results; so should your predecessors. Each day and each year is a building block for the next. While each year brings new challenges in the financial marketplace, there is a long-standing, understood culture at North Shore Bank that defines the way we work together as a team to overcome challenges, provide the very best products and services, and build a bright future for the people and communities we serve.

We brand North Shore as The Bank of You for a reason. It’s not only the bank of our clients and customers; it’s the bank of our employees and our families. We and our predecessors, supported by our families, friends and community members, have built this bank into what it is today through a combination of hard work, great skill and exceptional character. All of us play an important role in shaping our bank’s future.

Together we are making history at North Shore Bank.

Thank you for coming out to enjoy a beautiful, fun-filled day at the Zoo and to celebrate all that we’ve built together. I could not be more proud or more grateful to be surrounded by such a terrific group of people.
