Three employees share their favorite winter holiday traditions today. First up is Pewaukee CSR Katie Jimenez:
When I was growing up, my favorite time of the year was Thanksgiving. I have a huge family, and we are spread pretty far apart in this country. Thanksgiving was the only time we could all get together in one place. My grandmother had all the aunts and uncles, all the kids and even all of the pets come stay with her. I lived in the South at the time, so flying up to Conneticut in the fall/winter time was my favorite. I loved the snow (I am a Wisconsinite at heart!), and I loved to see my family. My job was to make cookies for after the big Thanksgiving dinner. My fondest childhood memories revolve around Thanksgiving. I still love to celebrate with family, even though getting them all together nowadays is almost impossible (we’ve grown quite a bit). I still get that warm-fuzzy-holiday feeling in November every year.
Next, from Sturgeon Bay East CSR Stacy Krauel:
I love Christmas and spending it with my family. Every Christmas Eve we go to church and then we go to my in-laws’ and have supper and open gifts and watch Christmas movies. Then on Christmas morning, we get up and open presents at our house, and then we have family over for a brunch and play board games. It’s a tradition we have been doing for 10 years now, and we love it.
And finally, from everybody’s favorite North Region Training Specialist Jan Born:
With the holidays coming up, I fondly remember family traditions passed on from generation to generation, in which we bake cookies and candies. After enjoying a fun family day, we deliver them to neighborhood families. We’re always greeted with a big smile of appreciation. YUMMY!
