Cudahy Fall Fest offers full day of fun

Jake and Casey Thomas (sons of Branch Manager Suzanne Thomas) and friend Tom Yang serve chili at Fall Fest. Employees each made a batch for the day’s chili cook-off, which CSR Jenny Guzman won.

Our Cudahy branch invited families to enjoy Fall Fest on Oct. 27 — and the day was full, to say the least! Activities included a costume party and contest, and the chance to make your own caramel apple. The Racine Zoo brought in a desert tortoise, Emperor scorpion, Madagascar cockroach, a seven-foot snake and a miniature hedgehog for guests to meet. Cudahy High and Middle School students displayed artwork, and local businesses set up booths for a business fair.

A helper from B93.3 FM, radio host Jane Matenaer, Cudahy Mayor Tony Day, Miss Dairyland Hannah Drummond, another helper from the radio station and Branch Manager Suzanne Thomas take a break to smile for the camera.

Cudahy High cheerleaders held a bake sale, and Project Concern sold hot dogs and held a food drive. Guests could check out the Survive Alive smoke house, a fire truck and an ambulance. They also had the opportunity to sign up for the chance to win prizes, including a $250 Target gift card and passes to the Milwaukee Public Museum. Kids could make and decorate coin banks, and bowl using alleys set up for them upstairs.

Fall Fest guests were invited to drop off worn American flags for proper disposal. Miss Dairyland Hannah Drummond, hairstylist Mary Fisher of Sauvage Style Lounge, B93.7 FM and the Cudahy Health Department also made appearances at the fest.
