Candy Cane Lane raises more than $106,000 to fight cancer among kids

This holiday season, Candy Cane Lane in West Allis raised $106,152.37 for the MACC Fund. According to Southwest Branch Manager Kevin Zsori, that’s the most the event has raised since he started helping with fundraising for it in 2005.

It’s also the first time the event has raised more than $100,000 back-to-back. In 2011, Candy Cane Lane raised about $103,000 in total.

Our branches also collected “Change for a Cure” for the fund, which amounted to $1,495.73. The MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer) raises money for research to cure cancer and related blood disorders in children.

Kevin sends his thanks to everyone who helped raise funds this season. “It seems like you can never do enough to help these kids find a cure, but every little bit helps,” he says. “If you ever have the privilege to meet one of these kids, they will show you a whole new meaning to life and never giving up.”
