Many people think of alcoholism as only being a problem for the person who is drinking too much. But the truth is, anyone who has a relationship with an alcohol abuser — family members, friends, co-workers and others — can be affected negatively by that person’s disease. A recent “Council of Safety” report says that 21 percent of surveyed workers said they had been injured or had to repeat work because of a colleague’s drinking.
