Peanut butter collection yields 266 jars for hungry families

We collected 266 jars of peanut butter for Milwaukee's Hunger Task Force.

We collected 266 jars of peanut butter for Milwaukee’s Hunger Task Force.

Last Friday, the Corporate Community Outreach Committee prepped for the Super Bowl with a peanut butter collection at Corporate and our Brookfield Square branch to benefit the Hunger Task Force — collecting 266 jars, as well as another big box of food and $183 in cash donations.

Employees could vote for whichever team they thought would win the NFL championship by donating a jar of peanut butter — creamy if they supported the Denver Broncos, crunchy for the Seattle Seahawks. (Based on how hard the Seahawks’ defense was hitting on Sunday, that was probably an apt choice.) Employees who donated at least one jar or who contributed $5 in cash got to participate in a casual dress day. For every jar they donated, an employee received a raffle ticket for football-themed prizes.

The raffle winners display their prizes — Karen DeGarmo, Cindy Lohrey, Heidi Becker, Katie Rosnow and Mary Sue Rasinske.

Raffle winners were:

Heidi Becker, Commercial Loan Specialist — grand prize: football snack basket
Mary Sue Rasinske, Senior Checking Services Representative — Aaron Rodgers T-shirt
Katie Rosnow, Application Development Supervisor — Randall Cobb T-shirt
Cindy Lohrey, Payroll Administrator — Green Bay Packers wall calendar
Karen DeGarmo, Marketing Product and Channel Manager — Green Bay Packers desk calendar

Besides the peanut butter, we collected another big box of food for the Hunger Task Force, a Milwaukee nonprofit that distributes food to food pantries, homeless shelters and soup kitchens free of charge.

Congratulations to our winners (and to the Seahawks) and thank you to everyone who helped the Hunger Task Force with your generosity.
