North Shore Bank cosponsored the third annual “Take a Taste Out of Crime” fundraiser, held by the Racine Neighborhood Watch on March 28 at Infusino’s Banquet Hall. The event was a huge success.
Offering a spectacular tasting of wines, beers, and Wisconsin cheeses, the fundraiser was very well attended — around 400 people showed up. It raised $28,000 for the neighborhood watch.

Besides the large variety of food and drink on hand, highlights of the evening included a visit from retired Green Bay Packers Paul Hornung and Jerry Kramer (who signed autographs to benefit the charities of their choice), a vast selection of silent-auction items, and a 50/50 raffle.

More than 400 attended the event — the best turnout to date.

Business Relationship Manager Amber Frantz, Racine Regency Branch Manager Jenny Meyer, and Kenosha Central Branch Manager Robin Callis had a blast selling raffle tickets while enjoying a friendly competition against the other “veteran” team. “Near the end of the first round, the other team was completely out of tickets to sell,” Robin said. “Then we discovered that their ‘arm’s length’ of tickets was much longer than ours! They did collect more money during the first round, but we kicked it into gear for the second round and sold more than they did.”

The fundraiser used both halls at Infusino's Banquet Hall in Racine.

Ralph Malicki, owner of the Washington Avenue Piggly Wiggly in Racine, and a member of the Racine Neighborhood Watch committee, said, “The 50/50 was especially a success thanks to your team!” Needless to say, we have been asked to participate again next year. Says Robin: “We will all wear more comfortable shoes!”
