Wauwatosa hosted a kickoff event for the Tosa All-City Read on Sep 27, an annual event to encourage kids and adults to spend more time with a good book.

“We didn’t have a huge crowd, but a lot of kids came in and made craft items,” reports ABMO Jennie Schlei. Along with treats, games, and prizes, the branch had a table set up with literature promoting the All-City Read and this year’s selection for adults, Orphan Train, by Christina Baker Kline, as well as Next Door’s Books for Kids drive and Reach Out & Read. The branch is still collecting books for Next Door’s drive.

Employees who helped out at the event, along with Jennie, were: Branch Manager Mary Rose Balzer, UB Tony Byal, PB Lynn Fehr, and Teller Jazmin Vela.
