Seymour Savings — Jenny Meyer’s husband, Walter — crushed Stubby in the mascot race.

We sponsored the American Heart Association’s Racine/Kenosha Heart Walk and 5K Fun Run on Oct 18. Despite the cold, rainy weather, people still came out for the event, Regency Branch Manager Jenny Meyer reports.

Regency employees and their family members helped out at the Heart Walk. From left: Teller Sam Bradford and her mom, Kathy; daughter Millie and UB Erma Quiroz; Walter Meyer as Seymour, and his and Jenny’s son Quinn.

“The rain did not stop our hardworking employees from coming out to work at and participate in the event,” she says.

North Shore Bank had a table in the kids’ area so that young folk could decorate T-shirts. And Seymour Savings competed in the mascot race and won it — “by a landslide,” according to Jenny — defeating Stubby, mascot for Marcus Theatres.

“North Shore Bank was a major sponsor this year, so it was great to have such a strong turnout of NSB employees to represent the company,” Jenny says. “We also sold hearts at four different branches to raise money for the American Heart Association. Among those four branches, we raised $177.” Nice work, team!
