Corporate’s Coleman places in Mequon 5K
North Shore Bank sponsored the Mequon-Thiensville Education Foundation’s ninth annual 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ 100m Dash on May 16. Mequon Universal Banker Kayleigh Whitmore worked the NSB booth, where kids could make signs to cheer on the runners. Branch Operations Support Supervisor Ashley Coleman took second place among women in the race, and first place in her age group; her husband, Josh, ran too. The weather was beautiful, several Mequon-Thiensville schools won ice cream parties, and two took home Golden Shoe trophies.
Around the Bank
De-Stress Lunch & Learn: Thirty-three employees attended a May 6 educational event at Corporate on the topic of managing stress, either in person or by calling in. Dana Kowalewski of Spark Wellness Solutions talked about how to identify your authentic self and address situations from that perspective, rather than immediately focusing on what others might think. Her presentation was based on the book You Can Heal Your Life, by Louise Hay, and at the end, four copies of the book were given away in a drawing. Project Manager and Wellness Coordinator Pat Ingelse is working on materials that build on Dana’s presentation, and those will be available on the wellness section of the intranet when they are ready. In the meantime, you can review some of the points from the presentation in a PDF here.
Sussex food collection: The Sussex branch will collect food for children in need through June 30. It will go to the Sussex Food Pantry, which will disburse it to kids who need lunches over the summer. The branch will also host a Race for the Hungry at Piggly Wiggly on June 11, in which Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts will rush to fill shopping carts with items from the food pantry’s wish list.
Department of the Week
Mortgage Loan Servicing: The five members of the Mortgage Loan Servicing department may have different interests outside of work, but when they’re on the job, they’re all invested in caring for our customers and protecting the bank’s assets. Loan Servicing Supervisor Kerry Carrasco brings us up to speed on her team.
Service Anniversaries
You can congratulate your coworkers on their anniversaries in the comments.
“I am very fortunate to be one of those people who can say I really enjoy my work and always look forward to each day since joining North Shore Bank,” says Molly Schissler, vice president, Human Resources, who marks 5 years with the bank this week. “The people here truly make this bank one of the best, and I’m so proud to be part of it.”
Celebrations
Deposit Services Representative Stephanie Hallgren welcomed baby Walter near the end of April, reports her supervisor, Suzie Prittie. “Stephanie and Walter are both doing great and enjoying their time together before she returns in June,” Suzie says.
Kudos
Here are some of the great comments we’ve heard from North Shore Bank customers. Thanks for making this the Bank of You!
“I always get quick and friendly service at the Grafton branch.”
“The tellers provide great tips about using the bank’s online services.”
“I had an appointment with a personal banker, and he was right there for me, even though I was early.”
“As an independent contractor for Canadian clients, I receive checks drawn on Canadian banks in U.S. dollars. These need to be processed differently, but the Wauwatosa branch handles them without delay.”
North Shore Shape Up
The power of push-ups: If you’re looking for a quick way to improve your fitness level, give the old-fashioned push-up a try. Push-ups build upper-body strength relatively quickly, strengthen your core when performed correctly, increase your energy in a snap, improve bone mass in the areas exercised, and speed up your metabolism. Start by doing as many as you can in a row. The next day, add two more, even if you have to rest to get to that number. You’ll build strength fast that way. So drop and give yourself 20!
