Commercial Banking VP Grant Schilling, Kerri Collins, Sharon Hack, Hali Thompson, President and COO Jay McKenna, Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt, and Dan Perron, director of the Military Avenue Business Association, officially cut the ribbon on the new location.

Our new Green Bay West location is officially open for business, after a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 3 and a grand opening celebration on June 6. Business partners, business customers, and local officials attended the ribbon-cutting event, which started around 5pm and ran till just after 7. Guests who checked in at three different stations in the bank, to learn more about our services and products, could enter a drawing — every half hour, we gave away Wisconsin Timber Rattlers tickets, and the grand prize was Milwaukee Brewers tickets. Branch Manager Sharon Hack noted that in particular, VP and Branch Operations Manager Tricia Cravillion, DM Kerri Collins, and Marketing Coordinator Mary Ott put a lot of work into the relocation and the ribbon cutting, as did all of the branch staff: ABMO Diane Leiterman, ABMS Hali Thompson, and Teller Leigha Johnston.

Saturday’s grand opening featured the Green Bay Kickers Soccer Club, along with a brat fry, a bounce house, and a “micro petting zoo” with a miniature horse and some donkeys. Guests could also paint picture frames as Father’s Day or graduation gifts and enjoy other activities. Of the new building itself, Sharon says: “It’s beautiful! Customers are saying it’s really inviting.”

Relay for Life: North Shore Bank sponsored the Relay for Life in Union Grove on May 29 and 30, which honored cancer survivors and raised money to fight the disease. The North Shore Bank team raised about $800 for the event. Team members were Union Grove Branch Manager Amy Sweet, Personal Banker Chris Nielsen, Deposit Operations Rep Deanna Gill, Amy’s son Jonathan, and three customers: Jamie Lynn, Larissa, and Mary. Mary also baked “Minion” cupcakes, inspired by the Despicable Me movies, to sell at the bank’s booth. Teller Supervisor Tiffany Duck appeared as Seymour Savings to walk the “mascot lap” at the relay. And the three Racine-market branches — Regency, Union Grove, and Westgate — also raised money by holding dip sampling events, at which customers could pay $3 to try a variety of dips made by employees, and purchase the dip recipes for $1 apiece.

Kudos

Here are some of the great comments we’ve heard from North Shore Bank customers. Thanks for making this the Bank of You!

“What makes North Shore Bank stand out the most to me is that the representatives know me by name when I walk in the door. I do not ever feel like a number.”

“Anytime I walk into the Muskego office, all of the staff are great. They know me and always say hi.”

“North Shore does whatever they need to do to keep me happy.”

“All of the employees know me by name and are so willing to help. I feel like I am important to them.”

North Shore Shape Up

Eat more to weigh less: “When you eat less energy than your body needs, the body adapts by becoming amazingly good at making the most of whatever food it does receive,” writes registered nutrition and dietetics technician Angelique Johnson. “It holds on to fat stores and begins using the muscle to provide the energy you’re depriving it of by not eating.”

That’s right: If you’re trying to lose weight, it’s not necessarily a good idea simply to eat less. Your metabolism will function better on an abundance of the right nutrients than not enough of the wrong ones. Here are Johnson’s five tips for getting plenty of food and dropping pounds at the same time:

  1. Start your day with a big breakfast and snack about three hours later.
  2. Have lunch at a reasonable time and snack about three hours after that.
  3. Your dinner should probably be the smallest of your meals.
  4. Hungry before bed? Having a light snack won’t wreck your waistline.
  5. Listen to your body! If you’re hungry … EAT!
