For the holidays, Northland staff purchased and collected gifts for a family as part of the Salvation Army–Fox Cities Adopt-a-Family program.

“This was our second year adopting a single mom and her kids for Christmas,” branch manager Heather Starr said. Customers could choose a paper ornament from a tree in the lobby, buy the item listed on it, and bring it back to the bank. The branch also sold candy bars to raise a little more money.

“While we don’t get to personally meet the family we were given, we know they really appreciate the gifts they receive,” Heather says. “By the time we wrapped and loaded all the presents to take to the arranging agency, the trunk of my car was packed full!”
