Vikki and Jeff Dolezal head to Panama on mission
Next week, building engineer Jeff Dolezal and retirement services consultant Vikki Dolezal (née Zuehlke) — they married in early June — will leave on a weeklong mission trip to Panama City, joined by Vikki’s daughters Sydney (18 years old), Phyllisa (28), and Carlene (15).
Because they have gotten a lot of questions about the trip from colleagues, Vikki volunteered to share the details with Shorelines. Read on to learn more about why they’re making the trip, what they’ll be doing, and how much it matters.
Employees win Elan sweepstakes
A few times each year, our credit card partner Elan offers employees bonuses for new credit card accounts, and even offers sweepstakes entries for those who have helped a customer open a North Shore Bank credit card. During a promotion earlier this year, five of our team members each won great prizes from Elan. VP Craig Witz has more about our winners and what they got!
North Shore Bank sponsored World Giraffe Day at the Racine Zoo on June 24. Employees talked with the public about the bank’s sponsorship of the zoo’s Giraffe Encounter, as well as about our products and services.
“Fifty lucky people got the chance to feed the giraffes for free, courtesy of North Shore Bank,” reports area branch manager Lisa Brooks. Photo here!
Bank offers relief for flood victims
The bank announced last week that it has opened a special account to help families affected by flooding in Burlington last Wednesday. The relief fund account is open for anyone to make a donation, and the bank will match up to $1,000 of funds donated. The money collected will be donated to Love, Inc., which is located in Burlington and is assisting people in need of water, ice, lodging, food, and cleanup supplies. If you know someone in the area, encourage them to stop by any of our branches and donate to the relief account! •••

Kudos: Kerri Hoehn
A customer recently shared this compliment about Kerri Hoehn, assistant branch manager–sales at our McHenry branch:
She has been so helpful so many times. She remembers my name! I would feel comfortable asking her for help. She has also made suggestions when my request couldn’t be fulfilled. I really appreciate her assistance.
Awesome work, Kerri. Thank you, and keep it up! •••
North Shore Shape Up: Meds not best for back pain
If you suffer from lower back pain, the Harvard Health Blog reminds you of a recent study which determined that pain-relief medication (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or NSAIDs, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen) is not an effective treatment for the condition.
Moreover, “new recommendations take that conclusion even further: it may be best to avoid medications altogether — at least at the start.” Read more here!
Upcoming Events
The Ashwaubenon branch will host the “A Clean Car for a Good Cause” car wash to benefit the Ashwaubenon High School cross-country team tomorrow, Friday, July 21, from noon until 5 p.m. The public is welcome to stop by and have their vehicle washed by the team. All the proceeds from the event will help the team purchase new warm-up attire. More upcoming events here.
