Stop in for Darrel’s retirement celebration next Thursday, April 5, in the fourth-floor employee lounge at 2:30pm.After 43 years of service to North Shore Bank, VP and region coordinator Darrel Eisenhardt will retire next week. His last day will be next Friday, April 6.
Darrel’s colleagues are invited to celebrate his career and wish him well at a get-together next Thursday, April 5, in the fourth-floor employee lounge at Corporate at 2:30pm. Put it on your calendar!
When Shorelines last checked in with Darrel, he was marking 40 years at the company, which began with his stint as a loan officer for Southeastern Savings, which North Shore Bank absorbed in the 1980s. He went on to serve as a branch manager, a regional manager, and vice president, branch administration. “I have found my job so interesting with the different responsibilities that I have had over the past 40 years that I have never dreaded coming to work,” he said.
“It has been a pleasure to work with Darrel. He is a man of integrity and a true professional,” said Sue Doyle, senior vice president, retail banking. “To many he is a friend instead of simply a co-worker.”
Sue noted that Darrel “has played an integral role in the development and success of our branch network. His logical, optimistic approach to situations, willingness to answer questions, and dedication to do what it takes to benefit the bank, customers, and fellow employees have all made an impact.” She added: “I wish Darrel the best in the next phase of life and that retirement brings him and his family all that he seeks and more.”
“I have enjoyed my 43 years through all the different responsibilities that I have had. It has been a great joy working with all my co-workers over the years, and I will truly miss everyone,” Darrel said in an email this week. “Thank you, North Shore, for a wonderful, rewarding career. Soar on!”
North Shore Bank’s loss will undoubtedly be his community’s gain, as retirement will give Darrel more time to volunteer with the Burlington Lions Club. His immediate personal plans include a trip in May to Ireland and biking 25 to 30 miles each morning — “weather permitting, of course,” he notes. Congratulations, Darrel!
It’s with a heavy heart that I wish you the best in your retirement. I thank you for everything you have done for me and for everything here at North Shore Bank. Words cannot express how much I will miss that bright smile of yours! Enjoy your travels and time with your family in Retirement! Enjoy!

Darrel, You will be greatly missed and my days will be a tad bit lonelier. When I am commuting in the morning, trying to control my road rage and stress, I will picture you on the patio or on the bike, and I will smile and relax. Have a great retirement, my friend!
Congatulations Darrel! I have had the pleasure of working with you and you will be missed!
