Carter runs strong at Ice Age Trail

Here’s an update: Customer assistance specialist Sara Carter placed 145th out of 325 finishers in another 50-mile race, the Ice Age Trail competition, on May 12. Her time was 10 hours, 32 minutes, and 33 seconds. Sara came in ninth out of 22 in her age division and 28th out of the 98 women who ran.

“The race went well,” she says. “Weather was perfect. The course was a lot more challenging than my first 50-miler — the terrain was more technical single-track, with more hills! Nutrition was a little bit more difficult, due to aid stations being spaced out differently. I am so grateful that my body once again carried me the distance of 50-ish miles without any major issues.”

There was only one hitch: “My watch I’m not so happy with!” Sara says. “It decided to die with about six miles to go, so that was mentally a little challenging. I have recovered and I’m already training for my next race!”
