North Shore Bank’s Community Shredding Day on May 5 was a popular event across our branches.

“The nice weather made it appealing for customers and neighbors to stop by with the documents for shredding,” said Kate Knox, AVP of marketing communications. “We are pleased that so many people were interested in taking this step to help prevent identity theft.”

This was the bank’s 12th annual Community Shredding Day, and Kate credits employees’ excellent teamwork with making it a success. “Not only did branch staff help people stopping by with items, but we also had great help from other areas of the bank, including Business Banking, Mortgage, and others,” she said.

Cars at Brookfield Square wove around the parking lot, waiting for their turn.

At East/Shorewood’s event, Girl Scouts and Shorewood High Key Club members raised funds for their organizations, too.

From left, shredders at East included two Shorewood High students, district manager Cristen Baumann, Mike from Shorewood High, area branch manager Shannon Weber, Razalyn, East universal banker Laura De Bruin, and Greg.

No exact numbers yet on how many tons of materials we shredded, but we’ll report that information when we have it.
