Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Milwaukee hosted its fourth annual Draft Day on August 17 at Northwestern Mutual’s beautiful new office tower. The nearly 400 students anxiously awaited their corporate work-study program placements at over 75 Milwaukee-area companies and nonprofits, including all six of Milwaukee’s Fortune 500 headquartered companies (and seven of the eight Fortune 500s in the Greater Milwaukee area) — as well as North Shore Bank. We welcome four students to join us this year, our second year of involvement in the program.
Partner companies presented students with swag, took group selfies, and warmly welcomed students to their teams in marketing, human resources, accounting, IT, and many other departments. See photos and more in press coverage from the Milwaukee Business Journal and BizTimes.
Pictured above are North Shore Bank’s students:
- Jonathan (Nathan) Andrade Placencia, who will work in Loan Administration on Wednesdays under Nicole Daniels
- Victoria Valdivia, who will work in Marketing on Tuesdays under Kate Knox
- Suleima Sanchez-Herrejon, who returns to the CSC on Tuesdays, under Natalie Canadeo and Janet Russell, after working there last year
- Erick Chavez, who will work in Commercial Banking on Thursdays under Margaret Capper and Jody Moore
Senior vice president Molly Schissler and Natalie are behind them.
The students will each be here for five full workdays every month throughout the school year. Talent acquisition manager Janet Rosenthal assists with the Cristo Rey program — you can contact her with any questions, comments, or praise for the students.
