“Together, Achieving More”: Rewards for referrals
It happens to all of us from time to time: You’re talking to friends, and one of them says, “Hey, you work at a bank. Let me ask you about…” This is your opportunity to refer them to a North Shore Bank specialist who can help.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could get rewarded for doing so? Well, you can — through our “Together, Achieving More” referral program. Karen DeGarmo has more information here.

Customer service awards go to Tuhro, Elliott

Mequon teller Doug Tuhro and Shorewood teller Audrey Elliott won customer service awards for first quarter. Doug (above, with branch manager Farrah Mason) received a $150 gift card, and Audrey (below, with branch manager Shannon Weber) received one for $100.

For first quarter, 26 retail employees each received more than five recognitions for their customer service. A drawing determined who won the gift cards. Congratulations to our winners! •••

Green Bay West staff enjoy fondue, Kelly Clarkson

Green Bay West team members have been playing as hard as they work in 2019. In January, they celebrated 2018’s successes with dinner at the Melting Pot in Appleton. “We used the money we won from the annual Wrap-Up Rally to treat ourselves to four courses of endless fondue!” reported assistant branch manager Hali Thompson. Pictured above at the restaurant are universal banker Leigha Johnston, branch manager Sharon Hack, universal banker Tiffany Pennington, Hali, and teller Shanna Krause.

And earlier this month, they saw pop singer Kelly Clarkson at Green Bay’s Resch Center. “It was a GREAT concert!” Tiffany said. “We all had fun singing and dancing to our favorite songs. Sharon and I loved Kelly’s cover of ‘Never Enough’ (from The Greatest Showman), Leigha and I sang ‘Breakaway’ like we wrote it, and Hali loved… well, every single note that fell out of Kelly’s mouth. (She is a SUPER FAN!) I enjoy spending time with these ladies outside the branch, and I will NEVER forget how much fun we had!” Above are Leigha, Tiffany, Hali, and Sharon. •••

New Hires for February 28
It’s always exciting to add new members to our team. Here are some of the fresh faces at North Shore Bank.

Pewaukee teller supervisor Sonnee Lozano is from Sussex and previously worked on the management team at Kohl’s department store in Dubuque, Iowa, for four years. She says, “I really like to spend my days off during the winter relaxing and watching movies and TV shows on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. I specifically enjoy ’80s and ’90s classic films, or anything with the classic John Hughes vibe! The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink are some of my favorites! I make sure to find time to watch an iconic feel-good movie every week, but I also love to binge-watch cooking and baking shows!” •••

North Shore Shape Up: Does positive thinking help?
A new study seems to have found that positive thinking really can help you recover from long-term pain, as Cleveland Clinic Wellness reports:

In a new study on more than 1,000 women getting physical therapy for shoulder pain, positive thoughts and expectations were linked to better outcomes. For instance, while overall most patients improved, those who expected PT to be helpful were more likely to recover compared with those who expected little benefit. And those who were in more pain but believed in their ability to function day-to-day despite the pain (known as “pain self-efficacy”) recovered better than those who were in less pain but weren’t confident in their abilities.

Other research has produced similar findings. It’s not easy for everyone to feel happy when dealing with pain or other health issues, but meditation and therapy can help — and it may be worth it! •••
