Herron energizing business banking in northeast WI
“I have a little bit of a unique background,” says new VP business banking Scott Herron. “I’ve done just about everything in a bank, except compliance. I’ve done collections, I’ve done workouts, I’ve done lending. I’ve managed retail locations; I’ve done a ton of business development. Being able to see how things work across the bank is always helpful.”
Here at North Shore Bank, Scott’s mission is to nurture and grow our commercial banking portfolio in the Green Bay and Fox Cities areas. “I don’t like to sit at my desk too much,” he says. “If I’m sitting behind my desk too much, I’m probably not doing my job.” Read our interview with Scott right now!
Tuition reimbursement helps Guardiola graduate
Cudahy branch manager Ray Guardiola graduated in May from UW-Green Bay with a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership, taking advantage of North Shore Bank’s tuition reimbursement program to help with tuition expenses.
“The program wasn’t the reason I went back — I’d always wanted to finish my degree — but it was a cherry on top!” said Ray, whose aim was to add to his leadership skills so he could grow in his role here. To learn more about the tuition reimbursement program, read on!
New, revamped sites to allow for even better service
We are growing! Not only has construction begun on our new North End branch at Water and Pleasant streets, the bank is also working with the village of Germantown to acquire land for a branch that would open next year, and with the city of Brookfield to build a new Brookfield Capitol branch adjacent to the current location. The current Brookfield Capitol branch would be torn down next year when construction was finished.
Our first-ever North End branch will combine a renovated two-story building on the site with a new one-and-a-half-story addition. Along with an open-concept lobby, the branch will offer features that suit the walkable location, such as a self-serve coin counter, extended banking hours seven days a week, and walk-up ATM/video teller service.
The parcel that would host the Germantown branch is off the intersection of West Pilgrim and Mequon roads, near Sendik’s Food Market. This branch will also mark North Shore Bank’s entry into a part of southeast Wisconsin where it hasn’t been represented before. The 2,000-square-foot branch will be a great match for the Germantown community.
Finally, the new Brookfield Capitol branch will help us offer faster and better service to our customers than the current location, which is over 40 years old, allows. The current branch will remain open during construction. •••
My Cash Back Rewards now available in Mobile Banking
Earlier this year we launched a new rewards program, My Cash Back Rewards. It is one of a number of checking benefits available to North Shore Bank employees who have one of our debit cards, and it can now be accessed on the North Shore Bank Mobile app. With My Cash Back Rewards, debit card customers have the option to earn cash back at merchants where they already shop. Participating merchants include Target, Starbucks, Panera, Walmart, Amazon Fresh, and many more!
Here’s how it works:
- Log in to Mobile Banking or Online Banking to view current offers.
- Select offers to accept or activate.
- Shop at the selected retailers with a North Shore Bank debit card.
- My Cash Back Rewards are deposited directly into the customer’s checking account at the end of the month following redemption.
My Cash Back Rewards are available to both standard and platinum debit card holders. For terms and conditions, visit the webpage. •••
Sturgeon Bay, local businesses unite for parade float
Sturgeon Bay East branch participated in the Belgian Days parade in Brussels in Door County on July 14. Above, branch manager Becky Kolstad, teller Loretta Heath, and teller supervisor Tara Neuville pose in front of our float.
“We used a semi from Peil Construction to carry UTVs and some of the boys from local baseball team the Big Dogs, and had a DJ from J Knightly DJ Service on board to get the crowd dancing,” Tara said. “It was great to team up with local businesses to make this a fun and successful event. Many comments were made that we really set a standard for other floats and stood out from everyone else.”
The team handed out North Shore Bank bags, koozies, candy, and bottles of water advertising our current $300 checking promotion. •••
Despite canceled kids’ event, Shorewood bike race fun
North Shore Bank sponsored the kids’ race at the Shorewood Criterium Classic on June 27. The annual bike competition is part of the 11-day Tour of America’s Dairyland, which draws over 500 cyclists from around the world every year. The village has been part of the tour for 16 years.
Besides the classic itself, the day included lots of other entertainment and family fun. Above, Shorewood personal banker Jazzmen McCallister and teller Audrey Elliott help sign up a young racer.
“Although we had a huge turnout, the weather did not cooperate,” said branch manager Shannon Weber. “The day started with sun and 80s to 90s for temperature, but as we got closer to the kids’ race, horrible storms came through and we had to cancel the event.” Above are Audrey, Shannon, personal banker Kenya Owens, and Jazzmen at the classic. •••
New Hires for July 18
It’s always exciting to add new members to our team. Here are some of the fresh faces at North Shore Bank.
Mortgage loan originator Sandipa Das is originally from India. She graduated from UW-Green Bay in 1994 and lives in Neenah now. She previously worked as a mortgage loan originator with Homefinity, a division of Fairway Mortgage. “My fiancé and I met a breeder recently who breeds English springer spaniel puppies. After spending about half an hour listening to her show-dog stories, we decided to pay a visit to the Fox Cities Humane Society, since there are so many dogs in need of a good home. I intended to sign us up as volunteers, preferably dog walkers. But after spending almost three hours there, we left with a 3-year-old male Rhodesian Ridgeback and Whippet mix named Charlie. He has been a great addition to our family.”
Ashwaubenon teller Katilyn Wirth lives in Oconto Falls with her three dogs and three cats. She previously worked as a floating branch manager for Check `n Go, before returning to school to get an accounting degree at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. “I enjoy traveling,” Katilyn says. “I went to Vegas last year for the first time in February and enjoyed it so much I went back in April for my birthday. I also enjoy painting. Doctor Who is probably my favorite TV show, and I stay active by still playing Pokémon Go.” •••
