Adams finishes first full marathon, clocking in at under four hours

Mickey, after the race with her medal, joined by daughter Lindsey, grandson Croix, and husband Tom.

Assistant VP and Allouez and Green Bay East area manager Mickey Adams ran the Lakefront Marathon earlier this month, clocking in at 3 hours, 49 minutes. She had completed four half marathons previously, but this was her first full 26.2 miles.

“It was a perfect day,” she says. “Started out with gloves and jacket and just tossed them when I warmed up. Light winds, sunny, and lots of spectators made the miles a bit easier. The toughest part was mile 13.1, and knowing I was only halfway. It was definitely more of a mental game, doing a full versus a half, and I am very thankful I was able to push through and finish this race and cross it off my bucket list.”

Though Mickey’s time was fast enough to qualify her for the world-famous Boston Marathon, she plans to stick with half marathons and other fun races from here on out. She’ll head to Las Vegas for the Rock ’n’ Roll half marathon in November.
