This year, February means Mortgage Days at North Shore Bank! VP consumer lending manager Chris Boland talked to Shorelines about why it’s already time to start thinking about mortgages and what’s in store for this year’s event.

Why is February the month for Mortgage Days?
Every day should be a mortgage day, right? We’ve selected February because the spring buying season for real estate has shifted earlier and earlier every year. Almost as soon as the holidays are over, people are looking ahead to spring, home improvements, homebuying, and other items in their life that make February a great month for a mortgage review.

What sort of promotions and excitement can we expect for Mortgage Days?
We have some fantastic closing cost offers for the month of February that will allow customers to save up to $450 if they combine offers. We also have a very exciting HELOC special that pairs real well with a North Shore Bank mortgage.

On the employee side, we are fortunate to have a low-interest-rate environment that should allow for exceptional referral opportunity. We also have some special prizes for the individual employees and top branches (regionally) who outperform their colleagues with qualified mortgage referrals.

And what does Mortgage Days do for our customers?
Mortgage Days is really about awareness — we offer mortgages 24/7/365 here at North Shore Bank, but we are not always talking about them. Since for many people, a mortgage is a “set it and forget it” product, we want people to understand the importance of regular mortgage reviews or checkups. You wouldn’t go 30 years without seeing your doctor, and you shouldn’t go years without checking on your mortgage either. Events in everyone’s life can change their plans, and it is important to have a partner by your side to help ensure you have the right mortgage for you.

If you know anyone who is looking to buy or build a home, please let them know about the experts at North Shore Bank who can help with their mortgage. You can also direct them to the new mortgage section on our website, which will help them determine exactly what products and services best meet their needs.
