Branches help #MaskUpMKE get masks to Milwaukeeans in need

Traveling teller Ryan Alfaro rolls out nine boxes of volunteer-made masks, being picked up by Cory from Madison Medical Affiliates.

Our bankers are getting covid masks to people in need. The #MaskUpMKE project has provided 2.5 million masks to the Milwaukee community already, and is pushing to make and deliver even more by June 30.

Southridge assistant branch manager Zoran Saric, teller supervisor Kaitlin Czarnecki, and teller Chyloe Vigil show off the sweet tees the branch received for making masks for #MaskUpMKE. “We are attempting to have a case done by the end of the month,” branch manager Carolyn Lyrenmann said.

Customers Drew and Karen brought in a box of completed masks to add to the pile at Pewaukee.

Ben Palmer, who is coordinating #MaskUpMKE for Just One More Ministries, said in an email that the need for masks remains great.

“They are still going out as fast as we get them in,” he wrote, adding: “I also want you to know how much people appreciate receiving these free, volunteer-made masks. These are going to senior living, medical facilities, homeless shelters, food pantries, inner city churches and nonprofits, police and fire departments, Milwaukee county transit, Milwaukee Country Health Department, and so many more places.”
