Free coin-counting drive will help boost supplies

Mickey Adams demonstrates our coin counter for WFRV.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a shortage in the number of coins in circulation nationwide, causing a hassle for retailers that have to make change. While the bank has always offered free coin counting to our customers, we are now extending that offer to non-customers as well, to encourage them to bring in their loose coins and exchange them for paper currency.

A still captured from the NBC report.

Through July, people can stop in our branch lobbies during regular hours, no appointment necessary. Although free coin counting is not available for commercial businesses, they will benefit from the replenishing of coins in circulation.

Local news outlets across Wisconsin are helping spread the word about North Shore Bank’s free coin-counting campaign to tackle the coin shortage.

NBC affiliates TMJ4 in Milwaukee and WGBA in Green Bay mentioned our coin-counting campaign in their newscasts Monday evening. Tuesday night, Appleton and Green Bay CBS affiliate WFRV aired a story including an interview with area branch manager Mickey Adams. And in a story on the coin shortage published last night, Milwaukee’s Fox 6 spoke with SVP retail banking Sue Doyle.

The WFRV report by Rhonda Foxx can be found here. Foxx told our Marketing department the piece has been viewed over 50,000 times on Facebook, and as of this writing, it has been shared over 130 times. •••

New billboards focus on bank’s reliability

The new billboard designs rolled out this month.

The bank is running new billboards this month, with messaging focused on being there for our communities. The new messages affirm that North Shore Bank is “The Bank of Community,” “The Bank of Neighbors You Can Count On,” and “The Bank of We’re Here for You.”

The new billboards are also digital, except in Door County, where that’s not offered. The change from static billboards will allow us to adapt our messaging quickly and easily if necessary. The new billboards will run in the greater Milwaukee area through August 2, and around Appleton, Green Bay, and Door County from July 13 through August 9. •••
