SERVICE ANNIVERSARIES

Desire to learn has kept DeMain at bank for 20 years
“Wow! 2001 Amy was so very different from 2021 Amy,” AVP and senior mortgage lender Amy DeMain says.

Asked what advice she’d give her younger self after 20 years at North Shore Bank. “I guess I would say: ‘Be confident in your abilities. You are stronger and smarter than you think!’”

Given her two decades of success in a variety of roles at the company, the truth of that message is self-evident. See what Amy had to say about her career here!

SOAR TOGETHER

Metro North SOAR survey yields many compliments
In February, the Metro North District invited internal customers to take the internal SOAR Together survey and rate their satisfaction with the service they’ve received from our branches. We received 275 responses — and a lot of appreciative words about your colleagues! Cristen Baumann has more information here.

Last chance to get your SOAR award nomination in!
Have a colleague who’s done a truly outstanding job of making our customer promises a reality, or who does outstanding work in their community? Recognize them with a nomination for North Shore Bank’s annual SOAR Together awards.

Go here for details on the three award nomination categories. Winners will each receive $500 and a SOAR Together recognition plaque. You can see our past winners at the link under “Annual Awards Overview.”

All employees are eligible to win these awards, so nominate someone today! The nomination period will close Friday, March 12. A nominating committee will then review the entries and select one winner for each award. Winners will be announced in April.

Submissions must clearly and completely describe why the nominee is deserving of this recognition. Please be sure your comments provide the committee with a full and accurate understanding of the reasons for your nomination. We look forward to reading your submissions! ONE MINUTE OF MINDFULNESS

Give yourself the gift of calm, with a midday meditation

Things are so busy and chaotic right now, it’s easy to lose our perspective. Take a break. You aren’t going to miss anything. It will not make you less productive. Your work will not suffer one bit. On the contrary, your mind will be refreshed, your spirit renewed.

Try this meditation for one minute every day, or longer if you want to:

NOTICE THAT UNCOMFORTABLE FEELING of sitting still. Feel like you need to be doing something? Just quietly observe that sensation, that need for stimulation. Sit with it until it fades. Once that happens, you will be able to get back to work with a mind and heart in perfect synchronicity.

This meditation was adapted from A Mindful Day: 365 Ways to Live Life with Peace, Clarity, and an Open Heart, by David Dillard-Wright. How did it go for you? Share your thoughts and feelings in Shorelines and you’ll be entered to win a copy of the book!

If you would like a FREE daily email reminder to do one minute of mindfulness, email us with the subject line “Mindfulness reminder.” •••
