Howard-Suamico helps students raise cash for South Sudan charity

Forest Glen students and teachers used Howard-Suamico’s coin-counting machine throughout the “penny war.”

Forest Glen Elementary students recently organized a school-wide “penny war” to raise funds for nonprofit Water for South Sudan. Students and teachers collected coins for the initiative and used the coin-counting machine at our Howard-Suamico branch to total their results.

The school ultimately raised $7,679.62, enough money to fund half of a water well in South Sudan. North Shore Bank is thrilled to have played a role in this important work!
