Speich, Kelly win in employee recognition drawing
Our Employee Recognition Program winners for the third quarter of 2021 are Muskego universal banker Sara Speich, who won $150 in our quarterly sweepstakes, and Wauwatosa personal banker Tawanda Kelly, who won $100.
North Shore Bank employees earn a recognition point each time a customer mentions their name in a survey response, letter, or another positive comment. Each mention of your name also earns you one entry into the sweepstakes. There is also a year-end sweepstakes drawing for one of two $200 prizes — every employee who gets at least 10 recognitions throughout the year will be entered. Congratulations to this quarter’s winners! •••
National Night Out draws crowd, swimmers find Dory
Franklin employees pitched in at the city’s National Night Out event this Monday, August 2. The nationwide event is a chance for local police to talk with members of the community about law enforcement and crime prevention.
“We had lines all night — there were more people than we were expecting!” assistant branch manager Sam Damman said. “We gave out North Shore Bank tote bags, sunglasses, hand sanitizer, can cozies, beach balls, coloring sheets, and more, and we had a spinning wheel and a bucket-ball toss game.”
Burlington sponsored movie night at the Burlington Community Aquatic Center on Friday, July 30. The featured entertainment was Finding Dory.
“Attendance was slightly lower than anticipated because the weather did not cooperate,” branch manager Robin Callis said. “By movie time, the temp had dropped to around 70 degrees. However, a few brave young souls still participated in the water games — including a cannonball contest and a floatie relay race — and remained in the pool during most of the movie. Others were wrapped warmly in a blanket on the pool deck.” Robin and her team passed out North Shore Bank swag before the show, including sunglasses, beach balls, glow bracelets, and bug spray.
And North District employees helped out and got some nice pics at the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers game on Friday, July 23.
Comic Book Hero Night, presented by North Shore Bank, took place that weekend and offered fun opportunities to see mascots and masked avengers alike. •••
Kenosha fundraiser to aid Habitat for Humanity
Through August, we’re celebrating the opening of the new Kenosha South branch with a coin-counting fundraiser to help Habitat for Humanity. Anyone can bring their loose change into the branch to have it counted for free, and then donate whatever they’d like to support the charity’s local chapter. The new branch is right outside Festival Foods, which housed the previous location until last month. •••
Let yourself create an inner pool of energy
Live from the interest, not the principal — it’s important to create an inner pool of energy that you constantly refill. Don’t work so hard that you forget to pay attention to your inner self. When your mind gets foggy, take a break.
Try this meditation for one minute every day, or longer if you want to:
I BRING MY AWARENESS to the expansive space within me. I trust that if I do not push, everything will come together in due time.
This meditation was adapted from A Mindful Day: 365 Ways to Live Life With Peace, Clarity, and an Open Heart, by David Dillard-Wright. How did it go for you? Share your thoughts and feelings in Shorelines and you’ll be entered to win a copy of the book!
If you’d like a daily email reminder to do one minute of mindfulness, email us with the subject “Mindfulness reminder.” —Pat Ingelse, AVP and PMP •••
