Our Staff Appreciation Days ran from January 9 to 20, and were part of the bank’s centennial celebration and an opportunity for managers to recognize employees. Here’s a bit of what went down.

Deposit Services enjoyed three days of fun, which included refreshments, treats, and activities. Employees were served their choice of “fancy” water — brands like Voss, San Pellegrino, and Acqua Panna — in glass stemware one day. “They were offered sparkling or still, and all drinks were served with sliced lemons and limes,” deposit services manager Natalie Canadeo said. On another day, they were offered iced bottled soda, with black cherry and grape proving to be the most popular flavors.

Deposit operations reps Casey Kopacz and Jonesy enjoy a more sophisticated level of hydration.

Natalie and deposit operations supervisor Kristin Hoch played flight attendant for “Seymour Airlines” on a third day, pushing a cart and dispensing pretzels, chips, cookies, coffee, and soda. “We cheekily offered blankets and pillows too,” Natalie added.

“It was a real pick-me-up — a boost, feeding the mind, body, and soul,” said deposit operations rep Debra “Jonesy” Jones. “We’re like moving cars, and we need fuel.”

Loan Servicing put up “The Wall of Thanks,” which features 19 “Thank a Banker” cards with handwritten notes from employees.

The department inquired as to whether the cards should be displayed or shared in some other way. “We were told whatever worked for us was fine,” loan servicing manager VP Joe Fretschel said. “So I polled my group asking which method they preferred, and the responses were unanimous to post them.”

Loan servicing specialist Shannan Mahloch and senior loan funding rep Kelly Thiemer helped devise the wall. “It looks pretty good, yes?” asked Joe. Indeed it does. Here’s a sampling of the messages posted:

Brenda Newton in Mortgage Servicing is always so helpful and willing to pitch in when needed. Thank you, Brenda, for always thinking of others on your team!”

Maribeth Osmundsen – Thank you for all your wisdom! I know one day I can be just like you. Well — taller, anyway.”

“Maribeth, Kelly, Shannon, Joe & team – Thank you for your help throughout the year with our branch loans. It is a pleasure to work with each of you. We are so thankful for your partnership & guidance with loans.” —Katie Longsine, for the Pulaski and Howard-Suamico teams 03208

“Kelly T – Thank you for always helping me. I feel like I ask the same questions, but you’re so great and never get annoyed with me.”
