There’s always something new and exciting happening in payments, especially at our company. Credit and debit cards, ATMs, and electronic funds transfers became part of the banking landscape in the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s, and their use exploded over the decades that followed, getting a huge boost from internet technology around the turn of the millennium. Bank rolls out the red carpet for employees in June

Throughout the month of June, North Shore Bank celebrated our 100 years of history — and the people who’ve helped make it a reality — by literally rolling out the red carpet for employees coming into work. Take a look at these photos from all over the bank!

Top-performing managers tour Harley museum

Top-performing branch managers got to attend a special event at Milwaukee’s Harley-Davidson Museum last month.

Managers of the eight highest-performing branches for the first half of the fiscal year enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and dinner at the museum, followed by a private guided tour, on June 27. The tour included a visit to the museum’s Motorcycle Vault, where attendees could see bikes the museum owns but that are not on public display, such as Elvis Presley’s Harley.

In a North Shore Bank–specific touch, the tour also featured some write-ups about executive chairman Jim McKenna’s experiences traveling on his Harley. 01879

SVP retail banking Sue Doyle planned the event, but was not able to attend. VP branch sales Craig Witz served as host. The eight branch managers in attendance were Mickey Adams, Lisa Brooks, Sharon Hack, Erica Hughes, Katie Longsine, Dee Patel, Stephanie Ruiz, and Kathleen White. Also present were district managers Cristen Baumann, Brian Bozek, Kerri Collins, and Lauri Lunde, and branch operations manager VP Tricia Cravillion. •••

Volunteers needed for Brady Street Festival

Volunteers needed! North Shore Bank is once again a sponsor of the Brady Street Festival in Milwaukee, scheduled this year for Saturday, July 29 from noon to 11 p.m. North End, MLK Drive, and Shorewood are our host branches for the event, which will feature food, music, local merchants, and lots of fun..

Employees show spirit at Union Grove parade

North Shore Bank employees and their families were part of this year’s Union Grove Fourth of July Parade, the theme of which was “Star-Spangled Everything.”

Along with Union Grove branch manager Jolene Cedeno, who was joined by husband Angel and daughter Natalie, employees who participated in the parade were personal banker Nicholas Ditscheit, lead teller Jackie Miller (with son Jerry), and associate banker Staci Ryan (with kids Logan and Hailie).

“We had a lot of fun with our kids celebrating the Fourth with the community!” Jolene said. •••

Lobby construction under way at Corporate

As you may have seen on Ask Seymour, construction has begun on the lobby of the bank’s Corporate headquarters in Brookfield. Facilities & Services manager VP Tim Dotson is providing regular updates.

The first two weeks of the project were devoted to demolition — removing floor tiles, the ceiling, lighting fixtures, the chair rail that ran through the branch area, and HVAC elements. The next step has been removing the mortar used on the previous lobby tile and also removing the faux round columns. After that is above-the-ceiling work: HVAC, fire protection systems, and electrical.

“We’ve seen a lot of visible progress so far, but it will look like the project will slow down, even though we’ll still be working on it just as hard and just as fast!” Tim said.

New Hires for July 13
It’s always exciting to add new members to our team. Here are some of the fresh faces at North Shore Bank.

Green Bay East teller Nicole Goska is from Green Bay and was previously a behavior treatment technician who worked with autistic children. She enjoys home improvement and DIY projects, and has never eaten watermelon. She also has a collection of over 150 different duck items, ranging from rubber ducks to duck soap dispensers. “In college, my roommates and I rented a house. I was in charge of decorating and decided the bathroom needed a theme,” she explains. “I had ordered some duck things like a toothbrush holder, soap dispenser, and rug, and then was gifted over 50 small rubber ducks for Christmas. It kind of grew from there!”

Northside teller Christianna Shaner is from Racine and previously worked at Hobby Lobby. She has played the piano for 16 years. She and her husband have 2-year-old and 10-month-old daughters. “My husband has a goal to go fishing in every state, and I want to help make that happen,” she says. “So far we have hit Wisconsin, Michigan, South Carolina, and Tennessee.” •••

Stulo’s son wins age group in 5K

MCIF database administrator Scott Stulo’s son Xander, 13, took first place in his age group at the Kenosha YMCA’s 45th Annual Firecracker 5K on July 2. He finished the 3.1-mile race with a time of 19 minutes, 58 seconds, placing 14th overall. Xander is entering eighth grade and has run cross country and track throughout middle school. “This summer he’s training with a high school cross country team three to four days a week and plans on running in high school,” his proud dad said. •••
