We’re excited to announce a refreshed, simplified checking offering that customer will now experience, making it easier to filter through the options and select the account that fits them best! Effective January 3, 2024, North Shore Bank reduced the number of checking accounts in our lineup from 9 account types to 5 types. A new account called Premier Checking provides extra perks for our loyal customers. We will continue to offer Free, Free with Platinum, Student, and Balance Checking from our existing lineup.

With this change, we will no longer offer Platinum Perks, Perks with Platinum, 60+, or 60+ with Platinum Checking. Existing customers with those account types will not be affected by the change – only new accounts opened after January 3rd.

This change is based on competitive analysis, current account activity and changing customer needs. The new lineup helps us streamline options available for customers and makes the account opening process more straight-forward to improve our in-branch and online account opening experience. The new benefits associated with the Premier Checking account are more in-line with what customers are looking for from their bank – including two out-of-network ATM withdrawals per month and two no-purchase-fee gift cards per month. Our Premier Checking account has benefits that better meet the current interests and preferences of our customers.

As part of the new lineup, we’re repositioning our family banking products to make them more visible and easier for families to see what’s available to them.
