Our Northside, Regency, and Westgate branches collected school supplies and cash from the community to help a Racine elementary and middle school that suffered a fire in February.
Smoke damage from the fire at Mitchell Elementary forced many students to throw out their school supplies.
“We had a fire when my daughter was in school and lots of kids had to get rid of their things,” said Regency Universal Banker Ermalinda Quiroz, who organized the collection. “So when I heard about Mitchell, I had to do something.”
The collection yielded several large boxes and bags of supplies, as well as an unspecified amount of cash. Ermalinda took everything to the Racine Unified School District, which will handle the supplies’ disbursement.
Ermalinda- Thank you for organizing this collection. My friend’s daughter goes to Mitchell and i am sure they welcomed the gifts.
What a wonderful way to show our support – nice going!
