From the Chairman: Word on the street
At a recent dinner party, a guest told me she’d overheard two women at her salon: One said how great North Shore Bank was; the other woman agreed and shared that she banked at North Shore’s Mequon and Grafton/Cedarburg offices, where she receives fantastic service. Hearing about this casual conversation was a great reminder to me that our true brand is what people say about us when we’re not in the room. Read the rest of Mr. McKenna’s letter.

^ Cudahy Fourth of July parade. North Shore Bank employees took part in Cudahy’s Independence Day celebration. Teller Jody Davis, PB Rebecca Dougherty, and Teller Jenni Pluster were in the parade, along with Branch Manager Marissa Peters, who donned the Seymour Savings costume — “as a bribe to get my staff to all participate!” she jokes. Marissa’s parents, brother, and boyfriend also helped out, as did Rebecca’s son Adrian.

^ Fly A Kite Fest. North Shore Bank was a sponsor for the free Fly A Kite Fest at Green Bay’s Arnie Wolff Sports Complex on June 28. The event benefited Family & Childcare Resources of Northeast Wisconsin and featured stunt kite demonstrations and kids’ activities including a kite parade. We were in the kids’ activities tent, helping kids make straw-and-loop airplanes and holding Plinko games for prizes. Visitors could enter a drawing to win an NSB gift card. DM Kerri Collins, Green Bay East UB Kristine Brunson, ABMS Kelly Culver and husband Andy, Marketing Coordinator Mary Ott, and East Branch Manager Lisa Sment, along with husband Mike and daughters Amelia and Ava, helped out.

^ Shorewood Criterium Cycling Classic. And on June 19, we helped sponsor Shorewood’s Criterium Cycling Classic bike race and the associated block party. The Criterium is the lead event in the annual Tour of America’s Dairyland race. Participating employees were Branch Manager Dane Didier, ABMO David Holada, UB Christopher Freeman, Business Relationship Manager Rebecca Reinhardt, Relationship Banker Ryan Sweet, ABMS Stefanie Sykora, and PB Heather Terpstra. They staffed our tent and table, which featured “cheer posters,” paper airplanes, a giveaway, and a raffle for a bike helmet.

Shorelines Shout-Outs!
As proven in our Customer Pulse Surveys, you are the heartbeat of the bank’s success. Here’s a sampling of what customers have to say about banking with us.

“In all the years I have banked with North Shore Bank, I have never had an encounter where someone was rude to me or condescending in any way. This includes the time in my life when I was a snotty teenager. Everyone there was always friendly and answered my questions, seemingly unaware of how much of a brat I was.”

“[Teller] Jody Davis and the others at Cudahy do a good job. Thanks.”

• Can exercise cause headaches? Yes, it can, reports The New York Times. The good news is, they will go away as your body adapts to greater activity. In the meantime, try a fitness activity that requires less exertion for a day or two.

• Kids’ medication measurements. Milliliters are safer than teaspoons when giving medicine to your children, a study has found.
