Around the Bank

• Remember: We want to see your photos from Halloweens past. You’ll get a treat for submitting them, and the chance to win a $25 gift card, too.
• A bunch of people showed up to try out Howard’s new drive-up video teller machine last month.
• Young and old lovers of literature had a nice time kicking off the Tosa All-City Read at Wauwatosa last month, too.

Union Grove Branch Manager Amy Sweet writes: "Customer Greg Golbricht came to visit the branch and show off his uniform for next weekend's historical reenactment at the Racine County Fairgrounds." She jokes, "[Teller] Linda Ohlsen had to pose with someone who has more history here than she does!"

Announcements

• The New Zoo near Green Bay is seeking volunteers for the North Shore Bank Zoo Boo, taking place Friday and Saturday nights through Oct 25. There are lots of jobs and a variety of time shifts. Many spots for adults and teens are open, and there are some spots for children 8 to 13 who have adult supervision. Students can earn community service hours for helping out. Email volunteer@newzoo.org for more information.
Checking promotion: Through Oct 25, new customers who open a personal checking account with us can get $100 cash. More details here.
• And our flag collection is going strong. Through Oct 25, the public can drop off worn American flags at any of our branches, and we will ensure the flags are properly retired in Veterans Day ceremonies next month.

Service Anniversaries

You can congratulate your coworkers on their anniversaries in the comments.

“I’ve enjoyed working at North Shore Bank,” says Kenosha Central Teller Siddeeqat Farooqi, who celebrates 10 years with the bank this week. My favorite part of my job is helping customers regarding their financial needs and questions.”

North Shore Shape Up

We have a couple October Shape Up Challenges for you. Or make that “Walktober” for the first one — walk for 30 minutes outside (or complete 30 minutes of some other form of exercise), mark it on your activity sheet, and send the completed sheet to Molly Schissler at mschissler@northshorebank.com by Nov 4 for a chance to win a Sports Authority gift card.

And it’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so we’re looking for NSB employees to get pink again. Get your coworkers together, pick a day to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness, take a group photo, and send it Cheryl Fregoso’s way at cfregoso@northshorebank.com. Plus, here’s some information on getting a mammogram — it could save your life.
