Our Southwest branch has for two decades been the official bank of Candy Cane Lane, the holiday light display that attracts thousands of people every year. The display is free to anyone who wants to either drive or walk through the neighborhood, although most visitors willingly donate funds at the site that go to the MACC Fund, Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer.

Nearly everyone who lives in the Milwaukee area has heard of Candy Cane Lane, which consists of several city blocks just north of Oklahoma Avenue in West Allis where residents take the tradition of stringing Christmas lights to a whole new level. More than 300 homes participate, and Santa even makes an appearance on Candy Cane Lane from Dec. 6–24.

Holiday spectators donated $82,534 at Candy Cane Lane, marking a $20,000 increase over last year’s giving. “That total far exceeded our expectations,” says Kevin Zsori, Southwest branch manager.

This past season, the bank added Change for a Cure to its holiday fundraising efforts, inviting customers of our Southwest, West Allis and Franklin branches and the public in general to stop in prior to the holidays with their loose change. The coins added up to a spectacular total of $1,250.
