Dennis Christoffel leaves behind legacy of caring for others
“In 1977, I attended a Wayne Newton concert in Las Vegas,” says Dennis Christoffel, vice president, Investment Program Services, who will retire on May 1. “He ended his performance with the following lyric: For me, I do not know when it will all end. But what is truly important is the hearts and minds of those you touch along the way. That pretty much sums it up for me.” Read more about Dennis’s career and plans, and wish him well in the comments here.
‘Second to none’: Jay McKenna thanks Christoffel, announces Reinhardt’s promotion
“Under Dennis’s guidance, his department has grown to $125 million in deposits and funds. He and his team serve 118 municipalities. This is no small achievement,” writes President and COO Jay McKenna. Plus: “I am happy to announce the promotion of Becky Reinhardt to retirement program manager. We are confident she will do a terrific job of preserving our client relationships.” Read more of what Jay has to say here.
Around the Bank
Get Smart Home Seminar: About a dozen customers from the area attended our seminar on Apr 16 at Brookfield Square. MLO Stephanie Glowinski-Moeller offered tips on home buying and the mortgage process; presenters from Brook Furniture and Tim O’Brien Homes also spoke. “A few people were so interested, they stayed until past seven!” said Branch Manager Margie Brusa, who credited the branch’s bankers — particularly PB Jeanine Wielepski — with finding customers who would benefit from the seminar.
Kids & Family Expo: Traveling Teller Ryan Alfaro, DM Brian Bozek, Racine Area Branch Manager Lisa Brooks, Kenosha Central Branch Manager Robin Callis, Kenosha Central PB Debbie Oatsvall, Regency Teller Angelia Sorenson, and Kenosha Central Teller Linsey Weber pitched in at the eighth annual event at RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie on Mar 28. Our booth had games, fake tattoos, balloons, and information on identity theft and bank products. Robin estimates that more than 1,000 people attended “because we ran out of tote bags during the event.”
Take a Taste Out of Crime: Lisa Brooks and Robin Callis also helped out on Mar 27 at the Racine Neighborhood Watch’s Take a Taste Out of Crime fundraiser. “The night went really well,” Lisa says. “We sold 50/50 raffle tickets, and former Green Bay Packer Frank Winters, who was signing autographs to raise money for the event, bought some from us to help our sales. There was a great turnout, the 50/50 tickets sold quickly, and people were happy to engage and talk about North Shore Bank and were glad to see us there participating. Our name was featured on the table with all of the food, so we had a lot of great exposure.”
Branch of the Week

Kudos
Here are a few of the many great comments we’ve heard from North Shore Bank customers. Thanks for making this the Bank of You!
“It’s so refreshing banking where you’re recognized and treated well.”
“I have always had excellent service from the Pulaski branch. April Stevenson has been extremely helpful with many aspects of my accounts.”
“The staff at the Franklin office is always cordial and professional.”
“The ladies in Grafton are outstanding. Always put a smile on my face. The world needs more people like them.”
Service Anniversaries
You can congratulate your coworkers on their anniversaries in the comments.
Senior Checking Services Rep Kim Konieczny celebrates 20 years with North Shore Bank this week. “I am truly blessed and happy to be working here and to have such a wonderful family of coworkers,” she says.
“My favorite part of my job is helping people and then seeing them come back to you when they need something else,” says Sturgeon Bay Personal Banker Tammy Hendrickson, who celebrates 15 years with NSB. “Recently a client said to me: ‘Out of all the banks we’ve gone to, you give the best customer service!’”
“In 15 years, I’ve been fortunate to get to know so many people while working at Cub East, the Corporate office, Downtown Appleton, and Ashwaubenon,” says Marketing Coordinator Mary Ott. “For me, the best part of my job is variety! In one day, I can be designing collateral, then planning an event, and then brainstorming how to maximize a local sponsorship.”
Senior Vice President Dean Trout says: “I have enjoyed every minute of the last 15 years because of the tremendous people I have an opportunity to work with — people rooted strongly in integrity and a can-do work ethic.”
And Vince Muntner, relationship banker at Southridge and Franklin, celebrates 10 years. Vince says: “I can honestly say that time flies when you’re having fun. I’m thankful to work for a company that truly values what you do and gives you opportunities for growth. The most rewarding part of my job is being able to help customers improve their financial situation. There is nothing more powerful than having a customer thank you for being able to help them out of a tough time.”
Milestones
If you or a coworker have something to celebrate — weddings, births, or other life events — please let us know at shorelines@northshorebank.com!
Cudahy Teller Supervisor Maddie Krueger reports: “On Apr 18, our teller Jody Davis — now Perron — got married! On the 10th, we surprised her with a wedding shower at the branch. A lot of our customers kept asking when her wedding was, so we decided offering baked goods to them was very fitting. Jody was very surprised! And we all went to celebrate with her on the 18th at her wedding reception! We are all so happy for her!”
North Shore Shape Up
Let go of the treadmill: Do you hold on to the bars on the side or in front of you when you’re walking or running on the treadmill or elliptical? You’re cheating your body out of exercise. Just use the bars as a guide, touching them lightly but not gripping them. If you can’t stay up without holding on more tightly, you probably need to slow down the pace or lower the incline setting.
