On Sep 20, four teams from North Shore Bank joined with hundreds of other people to support heart health and participate in the Milwaukee Heart & Stroke Walk.

Our teams — consisting of nearly 60 employees, family members, and friends — raised almost $6,300 for the American Heart Association. “This was an outstanding show of support for our first year participating in this very worthwhile cause,” said executive team leader Molly Schissler, VP, Human Resources.

Team captain Rachel Knitter (third from left), with sister Meg and nieces Jessica and Amber. Rachel suffered a heart attack at work last November. She reports: “I am doing great! I just saw my cardiologist in August, and I am no longer taking any of my heart medications!”

Many thanks to team captains Cristen Baumann, Joe Fretschel, Mike Kellman, Rachel Knitter, and Barb Wisneski for building their teams and helping with fundraising. Thank you to everyone who made a donation — you really rocked it! — and to everyone who joined us for the walk. We look forward to participating again next year!
