Celebrate the veterans in your life!
Veterans Day is coming up on Nov 11, and Shorelines wants to honor the troops who have served our country. If you are a military veteran or have any veterans in your family, please share a photo at shorelines@northshorebank.com. We’ll run the photos on Nov 12, along with stories about these service people.
30 years at North Shore Bank: Kathy Tetzlaff
Kathy Tetzlaff has held at least five positions in her three decades at North Shore Bank — much to her surprise. “Before I started, if someone had told me I would be here for 30 years, I would have been like, ‘No way,'” she says. “But I guess I’m kind of old-fashioned — in you have something good going, why change? I like the people I work with, and the bank is pretty flexible with schedules. There’s been really no reason to leave.” Read on for more about Kathy’s multifaceted career.
Around the Bank
Grafton brat fry: The Grafton branch partnered with the Adult Literacy Center of Ozaukee County to put on a brat fry fundraiser on Oct 17. The event included a drawing for two season tickets to the 2015-2016 season of the Wisconsin Singer/Songwriter Series, valued at $440.
So close… On Oct 17, Lake in the Hills staff dressed up to support their beloved Chicago Cubs — who were unfortunately eliminated from postseason contention just a few days later, on Oct 21, when they lost their fourth National League Championship Series game to the New York Mets. Maybe next year?
Employee Day at the Milwaukee Public Museum: On Sep 27, employees and their families checked out the natural history and science exhibits at the Milwaukee Public Museum.
Kudos
“What makes North Shore Bank stand out are its people,” writes a Green Bay West customer. “Not ‘associates.’ Not ’employees’ — its people! Every time I come in, I feel welcome and respected. The people — Hali Thompson, Leigha Johnston, and Diane Leiterman — have given me help and good advice, which I use to achieve my goals. North Shore is lucky to have such friendly and intelligent people. They are the best.”
“Always feel like family here,” writes a Westgate customer. “Girls are awesome, especially my friend Jessica Cranley. Takes time to listen and truly cares.”
Celebrations
Accounting Supervisor Millie Milkovic and husband Mico had their first baby, Petar, last week. He weighed in at 6 pounds 11 ounces and is 20.5 inches long. “Everything went fine,” Millie reports.
North Shore Shape Up
Moisturize with guacamole (sort of). Here’s a useful tip as another blustery winter descends upon us: Not only are avocado face masks great for your epidermis, but just eating avocados also helps combat dry skin, as they’ve got lots of monounsaturated fat and vitamin E. Try avocado on sandwiches, in salads, and in smoothies (where they help create a creamy consistency while only affecting the overall flavor mildly).
