North Shore Bank securely destroyed and recycled over 38 tons of paper during our 10th annual Free Community Shredding Day throughout our branches on May 7. Besides offering document destruction services to the public, we also connected visitors with information about identity theft and how to protect themselves and their families from it, and hosted fundraisers for local organizations. Kenosha Central Teller Linsey Weber recently visited Machu Picchu in Peru — and brought along a friend of ours: Seymour Savings! Linsey and Seymour traveled to Peru through the study-abroad program at Gateway Technical College, where Linsey is taking engineering classes. She and 11 classmates spent a week volunteering at Casa Hogar Juan Pablo II, an orphanage in the Lurín district of Peru that was started about 30 years ago by people from the archdiocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin. North Shore Shape Up: Build meditation into your day

Research continues to pile up showing the considerable benefits of meditation. Psychologists have discovered that regular meditation helps with focus, stress management, and anxiety, and for many people, offers help comparable to taking prescription medication, without any of the undesirable side effects. But a lot of people don’t meditate regularly because they don’t think they have the time. Here’s how to fix that.

Upcoming Events: May 19
North Shore Bank will have a booth at the No Child Wet Behind Diaper Drive in Green Bay on May 21. The event is to raise awareness that one in three American families report needing more diapers than they can afford or receive from assistance programs; it will include a 5K and one-mile family fun run. The public can drop off diapers at any Green Bay–area North Shore Bank branch between now and May 21. More upcoming events here.
