When the Café at Corporate opened last year, the Corporate Community Outreach Committee put in a container to collect pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Wauwatosa. Since 2000, recycling these little aluminum tabs from the tops of soda cans has generated nearly $296,000 for the Ronald McDonald House. Revenue from recycling these little bits of aluminum helps provide a “home away from home” for families whose seriously ill children are undergoing treatment in the Milwaukee area.
Saving pop tabs is easy! They’re compact, with a high concentration of recyclable aluminum. This past weekend, the Ronald McDonald House held its pop tab collection day. On May 20, Project Manager Pat Ingelse and Commercial and Consumer Closing Manager Barb Wisneski brought the North Shore Bank donations to the charity — we had one large boxful and hope to double that next year!
You can help by saving your pop tabs and putting them in the collection container in the Café. The CCOC will keep emptying it when it’s full to add to our collection, which we’ll donate again next year. Thank you!
Great work!
I love this idea and I wish that our North branches could also help participate in this event
