Elm Grove Junior Guild’s 50th gala a truly “roaring” success

Bank employees got their gangster on at the Elm Grove Junior Guild’s 50th Gala event on April 23 at the Rotunda in downtown Waukesha.

The event, which North Shore Bank helped sponsor, is the guild’s main annual fundraiser and featured a “Roaring Twenties” theme this year. All of the approximately 225 guests showed up in era-appropriate fashions, and a 20-piece band provided music for the evening.

Anne and Margie, all flappered up.

“It was full of amazing auction items and charitable contributions, and the whole event was laced with mystery and merriment,” reports Brookfield Square Branch Manager Margie Brusa. “The location was only revealed the day before! We were served Prohibition-era libations, and the food was delicious.”

Funds from the event benefit local Waukesha County charities such as Best Buddies, women’s shelters, and the Yell and Tell safety program, and provide supplies for the Village of Elm Grove. The guild also puts on events like the Memorial Day Parade, Easter Egg hunt, Halloween party, Breakfast With Santa, and Safety Village. It also supports community service projects and college scholarships.

Brookfield Square Assistant Branch Manager Anne Kagerah helped out with the event, along with Margie.
