Dennis White bowls perfect 300 game, then hits a hole in one

Investment Consultant Dennis White has been quite the athlete over the last few months, having bowled a perfect 300 in December and then getting a hole in one on the golf course this month.

“The 300 game was bowled at Sunset Bowl in Waukesha on December 9, and the hole in one was recorded at the Legend at Merrill Hills on June 2,” Dennis reports. It was a 180-yard hole. “I hit my hybrid club.”

Both achievements were firsts for Dennis, who bowls once a week during league season, usually averaging 205-210 a game, and who golfs two or three times a week during golf season. His handicap is usually between a 9 and a 10.

“It was a very different feeling for both events,” he says. “The hole in one was on a hole where I couldn’t see it, because it was tucked behind a bunker. I didn’t even see it go in, but some guys standing by the green did. They started yelling, and at first I thought I had hit them with the ball.” He says he wasn’t sure he believed them until pulling the ball from the cup himself. “Because I didn’t see it go in, it was somewhat anticlimactic.”

With the 300 game, on the other hand, anticipation built and built. “You have to have 12 good shots instead of just one,” Dennis says. “I was a little nervous before that last ball, but threw it well enough to knock all the pins down one last time.” He notes that he started his second game with four strikes too, for 16 in a row. “Not something that happens every week.”

His team also won the league championship for the first half of the season that night.

What a run! And Dennis’s colleagues have even bigger plans for him now. Jokes his supervisor, Investment Services VP Erika Milosevich: “We told him he has to play Powerball.”
