Pewaukee helps out at Taste of Lake Country
Our Pewaukee branch showed up for Taste of Lake Country on the town’s lakefront on July 29 and 30 and talked to some of the thousands of attendees about how North Shore Bank could help them. During the event, local plein air artist Michelle Savas Thompson did a painting of the Pewaukee branch, which Positively Pewaukee director Elaine Kroening quickly offered to purchase as a gift for the bank. The painting is now on display in the branch’s lobby. Read more about the event.

Lots of employees step up at busy Taste of Wisconsin
North Shore Bank team members helped out at this year’s Taste of Wisconsin in Kenosha from July 29 to 31. More than 40,000 people attended the event and enjoyed food, drink, live music, and other fun. Our booth offered coloring for kids and games like a beanbag toss and Plinko. Despite weather, Hot Dog Day a big success
Fox Point’s 12th annual Hot Dog Day was hot and rainy, but drew over 100 people — more than ever before — on August 12.
The event featured hot dogs (of course), face painting, a build-your-own-sundae stand, and for the first time ever, a hot dog eating contest. Investment Sales Assistant Emily Haskey’s husband, Kevin, took home the honors, eating four hot dogs in one and a half minutes, Fox Point Branch Manager Carol Bergen reports. “Nobody else was close!” Read more about Hot Dog Day.
Fox Point customer won VIP concert tickets in ’08
Last week we told you about Fox Point’s send-off for longtime young customer Finn McFadyen, who just left for college in Switzerland.
Seeing Finn’s photo reminded AVP Kate Knox that Finn was one of 10 lucky winners who saw a sold-out Hannah Montana concert from the bank’s VIP suite at the Bradley Center. She passed along the photo above, adding, “Fun to see that he is still a customer and heading off on his next adventure!” •••
New Hires for August 25
It’s always exciting to add new members to our team. Here are some of the fresh faces at North Shore Bank.
New Wauwatosa Teller Simone Sharpe is from Milwaukee and previously sold engagement rings at Kay Jewelers. “I love going to the movies and taking naps!” she says.
New Kenosha Main Personal Banker Amanda Lewis comes from Illinois and previously worked as an assistant manager at Cinemark Tinseltown. She says, “A weird fact about me is that I can’t wear watches because they always stop working shortly after I put them on. It’s been that way my whole life. My grandfather had the same problem, and he didn’t know why either.”
Timothy Nemec is a new Vice President, Business Banking, in the Commercial Lending Department. Originally from Ashland, he comes to us now from Madison, where he was previously head of special assets at Anchorbank. And he’s got good news! “I will soon be the proud grandfather of twins, my first grandchildren,” he says. Congratulations, Timothy! •••
Colleagues surprise Pier with wedding shower
Colleagues threw a surprise wedding shower for Senior Residential Loan Specialist Laura Pier on August 23.
“She had no idea!” reports Lending Quality Control Manager Jamie Sperk. “We had lunch and a delicious cake to celebrate.”
“I am still in shock! Thank you SO much to everybody for the wonderful shower, that was ridiculously sweet of you,” Laura wrote in an email later. “You guys are truly a special group of people. I am so fortunate to have coworkers like you!”
About 25 people showed up for the shower. Laura is marrying fellow employee Jon Habighorst, Personal Banker at Brookfield Capitol. •••
