American Legion members dispose of worn American flags following our 2015 collection.

We’re gearing up for our 15th annual bankwide worn U.S. flag collection! Our communities have come to rely on North Shore Bank as a drop-off site for their tattered American flags, and they trust that we will honorably retire the flags in Veterans Day ceremonies in November. We will work with the American Legion and Boy Scouts in Brookfield and Green Bay to properly dispose of the flags in a patriotic manner.

The collection will run October 3 through October 23. We will also donate $1 per flag — up to $1,500 total — to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight and Old Glory Honor Flight. These organizations fly local World War II, Korean War, and terminally ill veterans from other conflicts to Washington, D.C., to visit their respective memorials.
