Employees at our MLK Drive branch recently helped save a customer’s life, as reported in a wonderful story by Milwaukee’s Fox6 News.
Eighty-year-old Sylvester Gorden usually stops in at the branch approximately every two days. But near the end of January, MLK employees hadn’t seen him in some time. They got in touch with his niece, Janice Gorden, and later called Social Services.
When Janice went to check on her uncle, who suffers from blood clots in his lungs, she found him in bad shape and called emergency services to get him into a hospital immediately. He’s in treatment now.
Branch manager Krystynn Taylor told Fox6: “We do form the relationships with the people in our community and make sure that we’re uplifting each other and looking out for each other.” Krystynn said she felt “so relieved” that Sylvester was doing better, thanks to her staff’s concern.
