North Shore Bank welcomes Cristo Rey Jesuit student interns

By Molly Schissler, SVP, Human Resources & Compliance

We are very proud to welcome the newest members of North Shore Bank! Starting next week, four students from Cristo Rey Jesuit High School will join us daily until mid-June 2018, as North Shore will be a new corporate partner with the school.

Cristo Rey Jesuit follows a unique, nationally successful work-study model, enabling each student to earn a portion of their educational costs by working in entry-level positions in Milwaukee-area companies. Through the work-study program, the students gain invaluable experience in professional work environments that will help them make informed decisions about their abilities and their future. North Shore is the beneficiary of the student workers’ productivity and contributions — allowing us all to partake in developing the talent pool for Milwaukee’s future.

On Tuesdays, freshman Erik Salcedo will work in Human Resources under the supervision of Milene Below. Erik will work on various assignments, from training to recruiting to general HR work.

Sophomore Suleima Sanchez-Herrejon, our Wednesday worker, will work with Natalie Canadeo in the CSC in a wide variety of areas and projects.

On Thursdays, junior Ana-Luci Gonzalez will work with Kate Knox in Marketing. She will work on event setup, website and social media updates, and coordinating customer communications.

And sophomore Diana Valle-Vazquez will work in Loan Administration every Friday with Nicole Daniels’s team, performing filing/scanning and data entry projects.

Each of the four students with also do a rotation on one Monday a month, so we will have them here five days a week. Please give a warm welcome to them when you encounter them in the hallway or café.

Janet Rosenthal is our overall coordinator with Cristo Rey, and she welcomes any feedback regarding our student workers, so don’t hesitate to contact her directly with questions or comments.
