Our Grafton branch and Costco’s Grafton location joined with Family Sharing of Ozaukee County for the month of November to “Stock the Shelves” of the food pantry with nonperishable food items, reports branch manager Christen Meyer. The businesses collected 260 pounds of food, and the bank also raised $171 in monetary donations. That total includes $1 for every client who used the branch’s video teller machine during the food drive’s kickoff on November 1.

Family Sharing was chosen as the beneficiary of the food drive because of the impact it has made throughout the entire county, through its work to alleviate hunger. “Many people don’t realize how much need there is right here in Ozaukee County,” Christen says. “With 31 percent of the community struggling to meet their basic needs, the role of Family Sharing has increased over the years.” This year, Family Sharing will distribute more than 500,000 pounds of food to people in Ozaukee County.
