Cruz’s sons propel King baseball to state for first time in 15 years

West Allis branch manager Marie Cruz’s sons Natanael and Tomas Pinet and the rest of Milwaukee’s Rufus King High School baseball team made it to this year’s state tournament — the first time the team’s gotten there in 15 years.

Though the Generals lost in the first round to Janesville Craig, Marie was still incredibly proud of her boys’ and their teammates’ achievement. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel cited senior Tomas’s pitching as one major reason they made it so far, and noted that freshman Natanael was a first-team all-City selection this year.

Fox 6 also quoted Tomas in the headline of a story about the King team — he told the station the Generals were “hungry for a title.”
