Shorewood branch manager Shannon Weber and personal banker Kenya Owens were invited to Shorewood School District’s Authentic Learning Showcase on May 1. The branch donates yearly to the Shorewood SEED Foundation, which provides funding for educational opportunities in the district, and this was a chance to see some of the results of those donations.
The Authentic Learning Showcase featured students who were doing research and engaging with the community to address real-world issues.
“It was really amazing to see and to hear some of what these children are learning today,” Shannon said. “The biggest shocker for me was how truly vital technology is now — children are preparing for jobs that don’t even exist yet. It was great to see the confidence these children had from their learning and experiences throughout their year.”
