Shorewood School District recently invited Shorewood branch manager Shannon Weber to help with its Passages program, in which sixth graders give presentations reflecting on what they’ve learned over the years since kindergarten, as they prepare to enter junior high. Shannon (above, left) and the other members of her group — English teacher Renee Glembin and director of curriculum and instruction Tim Joynt — asked the students follow-up questions and offered feedback on the presentations.
“It was great to see how invested the children were,” she said. “This is an activity they have been working on for years, and you could see how proud they were and their parents were of their growth. I feel very fortunate to have been selected to be a part of this process.”
