Linda Tait “made a good decision” by coming to North Shore

Senior mortgage lender Linda Tait marked twenty years with North Shore Bank in July. She talked to Shorelines about her career in banking.

What’s kept you at North Shore Bank for two decades?
I’ve been in banking for 40 years — I worked for another bank in Kenosha for 20 years. They did business the way North Shore does it: a very customer-oriented bank with great products. So when North Shore opened an office in Kenosha, it was just a natural fit for me.

I’ve covered a little bit of a unique area as a loan officer. Over the last 20 years, I’ve worked with the Illinois offices, the Oak Creek office, Burlington, Union Grove, and Racine. Every single person I’ve ever worked with at every branch has been wonderful. So it just reiterates that I made a good decision when I came here.

So what have you learned over all this time?
Lending is constantly changing. You can get the basics, but there’s always a new product, a new system, a better way of doing things. And I think that’s why you can stay with it and you don’t get bored. There’s always something new that you’re learning.
